Rainy Day Activities For Kids - Hide and Seek

!±8± Rainy Day Activities For Kids - Hide and Seek

Need some ideas for indoor pass time. The kids start complaining early on they are bored. The rain keeps them inside. They don't know what to do with themselves. Maybe it is winter and It is getting dark quite early, it's cold and they are saying. "Mom, I'm bored, there's nothing to do." Well believe it or not there are plenty of things that you can do without spending a lot of money and help pass the time away with fun.

One fun idea is Hide and Seek. I as a child always loved this game. As long as you tell them places they can not hide, like the dryer or refrigerator because it's dangerous, you can have a really good time with them. Or if you don't want to take part, this is something they can play by themselves.

Marc Polo, do you remember that? It was a big fun game for us, but in the pool. However, if you have a big play room or safe play area in your basement, what a great time they can have playing this game. Trying to guess who the person is when they finally do catch them.

Also, you can have a picnic in the house. Put down a blanket. Make some of their favorite foods and snacks and even make some lemonade or ice-tea.

Of course when it snows there are things they can do outside, like make snowmen, angels in the snow, and a good old-fashioned snowball fight. Just make sure if they have a snowball fight they have their faces protected and you let them know not to pack the snow to tight or use ice.

Since they can't draw with chalk in the snow, you can paint in the snow. Use some food coloring and water in a spray bottle and spray the snow with fun colors. You can even make pictures depending on how you adjust the nozzle on the spray bottle.

You can always bring out the board games, make some hot chocolate with marshmallows. Go to the dollar store and buy some small prizes for the winners of the game. Classic games are Monopoly, Parchese, Checkers, Clue, and even Operation.

Have some time where you can bake cookies, rice crispy treats, pumpkin bread or how about Shrinky Dinks to create. All of these are yummy, and fun. You can't eat the Shrinky Dinks but they are loads of fun to make.

They can also sit by the window and count birds. They each can have a little notepad and count the color and types of birds they see and put a feeder outside and watch the birds enjoy the bird food. Have them draw pictures and color the pictures of the birds.

If you have it, play Rock band with your kids, have the entire household play and create a band. Taking turns if there are many of you. This is something my family loves are our Rock band sessions. Tons of fun. Also, WII, you can play baseball, Punch Out, Ping Pong, Tennis, and it also provides a workout for all as well as being hilariously fun.

Hopefully a few of these activities will keep your children from walking around saying how bored they are, until the rain, snow or cold weather is gone and Spring arrives.
